Peer Review Process

Journal Policy: Double-Blind Reviewing Process

The Borneo Engineering & Advanced Multidisciplinary International Journal (BEAM) follows a double-blind peer review process to ensure the integrity, fairness, and objectivity of the scholarly evaluation.

Workflow of the Double-Blind Review Process:

  1. Manuscript Submission
Authors submit a blinded manuscript and a separate title page with author information through BEAM Open Journal System (OJS).
  2. Initial Editorial Check
The editorial office checks the manuscript for compliance with submission guidelines and suitability.
  3. Plagiarism and AI Content Check

All submissions undergo similarity checks using Turnitin. Manuscripts must have:

  • A similarity index of less than 30%
  • An AI-generated content score of less than 30% as detected by Turnitin’s AI tools.
Manuscripts exceeding these limits will be rejected or returned for revision.
  1. Assignment to Reviewers
The editor assigns 2–3 expert reviewers who are unaware of author identities.
  2. Peer Review
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript and submit anonymized feedback.
  3. Editorial Decision
Based on reviewer reports, the editor makes a decision: accept, request revisions, resubmit for review or reject.
  4. Revision & Resubmission
Authors revise the manuscript based on feedback and resubmit. If no changes are made, chief editor has a right to reject the manuscript.
  5. Final Decision and Publication
After satisfactory revision, the manuscript is accepted and published for the next issue.
